Rise of Legions

Probably everyone knows what a MOBA is and how it was spawned from an old mod for the Warcraft 3 RTS, (or a custom Starcraft map, nobody knows), but the bottom line is, everyone knows the premise. There are, however, a handful of games that take that genre, remove the hero from the equation, and instead focus on the minion spawning aspect of the game. One such title is Rise of Legions; a castle siege RTS set in a rich fantasy world.

Summoning units are based on the deck you currently control,  each of which belonging to a certain faction ( Legion), each with their distinct looks and mechanics. No Legion seems to be any better than the other, as they all seem to follow the same trope: your basic melee troopers, the ranged one, and the heavy hitting units that can be either ranged or melee.

You start with just a spawner that generates minions at a certain interval, and two forms of currency, one that generates passively, and the other that generates as you progressively spend the first one. While the matches were designed to be as short possible, equally matched opponents that drag the battles for too long may notice that the rate at which minions spawn increases, eventually turning a tactical match into a race of who can overwhelm the other through sheer numbers.

Like any other castle siege of MOBA game, your objective is to destroy the opponent's troops to get to the towers, and once those are destroyed, you gain the ability to spawn your units closed to their buildings. You continue doing this until eventually, you reach the main base, and once that is also destroyed, you've won the match. At the end of a match, you gain EXP, currency, and EXP for your troops, allowing you to further upgrade them while in the lobby to grant them better passives and actives during matches.

Everything about Rise of Legions is great, from the graphics to the unit mechanics, deck building system, as well as the unit, upgrade tree and short matches, making this game both great for casual players, and those who enjoy long gaming sessions with customization options.
