Seed Of Andromeda
A voxel-based sandbox role-playing game where you get to explore various alien planets #Voxel Sandbox #Explore Planet #Sandbox RPG #Andromeda #Seed #Explore
As everyone is probably aware by now, Minecraft is huge. In fact, it is a few times larger than the surface of Earth, which amounts to a whole lot of dirt houses and creepers. On the other hand, people might be bummed out by the fact that everything is rather flat and you cannot go around the planet to get back to the point from where you left. However, a team of ambitious game devs are already working on this idea.
Seed of Andromeda takes the Minecraft idea and it expands it on a galactic scale, by allowing you to randomly generate entire solar systems and planets, as well as explore them and do the usual things involving blocks. Hence, you are one step closer to feeling like a god, given the fact that you also have the ability to customize the said planets in a number of ways and also create them from scratch.
To start off with, a lot of work went into making the experience as real as possible, or at least close to what science says about planetary bodies and galactic events. Hence, not only can you survey and explore the said planets, but you can also speed up time to watch their movement in regards to the rest of the galaxy. This way, you can easily grasp the concept of gravity and what makes a solar system tick.
Unfortunately, the current demo does not feature an exploration component, which means that you can only zoom into the planets and watch them from an aerial camera. Not only that, but the surface of the planes is not very detailed either, because most of the work went into the overall ensemble of planets and stars. Thus, don’t expect any gameplay just yet, at least for a while.
However, you can at least appreciate the excellent graphics when it comes to rendering the planets, especially since the game runs decently despite the massive objects displayed on the screen. Some planets have rings, others a glowing atmosphere, while some even come in fancy bright colors. All of these should make the journey quite fun, at least for a while until boredom sets in.
All things considered, Seed of Andromeda is definitely a project to keep an eye on, at least to see whether the developers can deliver on their promises. If they can, this may as well turn out to be a huge success with the fans of the genre, especially if the gameplay is a bit refined as well.
