Grand Theft Auto 5's latest patch, which took the game to version 1.0.372.2 on the PC platform and brought the Ill-Gotten Gains content, has also broken a series of single-player mods, including the popular Script Hook V.

GTA 5 on PC came out in April, and immediately after its debut, lots of talented fans started making different mods for the game. Rockstar emphasized that single-player modding wasn't a problem, as it would only punish those who use multiplayer tools to disrupt the GTA Online mode.

As such, lots of tools became single-player only, including Script Hook V, in order to avoid getting users punished.

Now, with the latest patch, its creator confirms that Rockstar has made a series of changes designed to break the mod and other single-player add-ons.

"I wonder if Rockstar will say again that they are not against single player mods," he says on GTAForums. "Got the patch (1.0.372.2), native hashes are changed, DRM code protection is applied to lots of script related functions, including natives itself . Backup your files til ScriptHookV update."

As such, it seems that, until modders find a new way to tinker with GTA 5's files, most modifications are broken and won't work with the latest patch for the game on PC.
