  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to sometimes crash if you used Chipset Overcharge in a Challenge room.
  • Fixed a bug where blood splatters didn’t appear at the right places when using an ability that can damage enemies placed a lot higher or lower than the player.
  • The price of the Magnificent Egg has been reduced.
  • Rocks can no longer go through walls.
  • The speed of particles should now be more consistent.
  • Removed obsolete graphical effect when getting hit by a trap while having trap protection.
  • Fixed a bug where Big Brains sometimes stopped his charge in the middle of the room.
  • Polished the Zombie Ogre weapon hitbox and his AI.
  • Some tweaks have been made to the tutorial.

New in Space Gladiators - Escaping Tartarus Demo 0.2.2 (May 24, 2019)

  • Apart from a couple balance changes, today's update is mostly focused on quality of life additions.
  • I have noticed that a lot of players did not know what the colors of the items were for. The game didn't make it clear enough and this update will hopefully fix that.
  • Colors are here to introduce a little strategical dimension to the game and to allow the player to customize his build.
  • Red abilities scale with your "Damage" stat.
  • Blue abilities scale with your "Energy Damage" stat.
  • Green abilities scale with your "Health Points" stat.
  • Yellow abilities scale with your "Armor" stat.
  • This means that some abilities are more or less efficient with your character depending on his stats.
  • You could choose to focus on increasing your Damage and using a Bow, or to play Patato and focus on maximizing your health points and throw meatballs around.
  • Passive items are also color coded to indicate which stat they affect. I have added the purple color for those that modify multiple stats, I'm hoping it won't be too confusing for new players.
  • Changelog:
  • Lowered the chance of finding easy rooms after having cleared arenas.
  • The Piggy Bank item now gives out 3 coins everytime you clear a room (against 1 before).
  • Modified the design of items info boxes to emphasize their color.
  • Added a new settings option to mute audio when not focusing on the game window.
  • Added the purple color for items that modify multiple stats (instead of being white).
  • Added a tutorial prompt to show how to reroll the shops items.
  • Items that are part of shops and altars can no longer be moved by being hit.
  • A glitch where the dialog box appeared right at the start of the game should be fixed.
  • Some tweaks have been made to the tutorial to make it more intuitive.
  • Removed the “Give feedback” option and changed “Follow us” to redirect to our Twitter account.
  • Reworked items descriptions to be more clear.
  • Changed the image corresponding to “Select” for gamepads.
  • The interface presenting the opponents you can choose for arena fights has been tweaked a little bit.
  • Death screen now gives out tips.
  • Added Stats information for Health Points and Armor.

New in Space Gladiators - Escaping Tartarus Demo 0.2.1 (May 16, 2019)

  • Today's update introduces a new type of item into the game: pets!
  • Quick note: I am now using Twitter for updates and information about the game. Make sure to follow me there!
  • These little guys will follow you around and help you with their different abilities.
  • Walter will give you drugs, while Crank will explode on your enemies.
  • A new foe has also been introduced to the game: the alien. They are weak and slow but usually hang out in groups.
  • Some corrections were made:
  • Fixed some glitches with Big Brains.
  • The heart in the tutorial can no longer be pushed by hitting it.
  • Altars and shops will now have less items in the beginning of a run.
  • Shops found before the first arena now sell items for half the price.
  • Chests in the beginning of the run will now usually give out lower tier items.
  • Energy balls no longer go through walls.
  • There will no longer be duplicate rooms when you’re presented only with item rooms.
  • A run can no longer start with a platforming room.

New in Space Gladiators - Escaping Tartarus Demo 0.2.0 (May 2, 2019)

  • Major changes:
  • Most rooms have been modified to be easier. A lot of traps have been removed.
  • The height you go to after bouncing on enemies or spikes has been increased and the maximum falling speed of the player has been reduced. The goal is to make bouncing and down striking things easier.
  • The speed at which you slide while hanging onto a wall has been decreased.
  • Key bindings now support the mouse and you can use the mouse to navigate in menus.
  • You will now mostly encounter easy rooms in the beginning of the run. The probability of meeting hard rooms increases as you progress through the arenas.
  • Big Brains no longer spawns meatball traps and his health has been decreased.
  • Invulnerability time after being hit has been increased. You now become transparent when you are invulnerable.
  • Patato damage and energy damage have been increased.
  • The Zombie Ogre and the Flying Corpse size have been reduced. The Flying Corpse health and speed has been reduced aswell. This should make it easier to dodge in rooms with a lot of enemies.
  • The tutorial has been reworked to better explain concepts of the game. We recommend you give it a try if you played the old version and have a hard time in the game.
  • The beginning chest with a random passive item has been replaced by a random defensive ability. (picked from the ones you have discovered)
  • Minor changes:
  • Genetic Containers will no longer spawn enemies if there are more than 9 enemies in the room (not counting the containers).
  • Added a new gameplay settings page that allows you to disable death screens, floor introductions, tutorial prompts and to enable quick drop. With quick drop on, you only have to press DOWN to go down from a platform instead of DOWN + JUMP.
  • Destroyables in the rooms introducing the Training Grounds and the Hole have been removed.
  • Hitting dummies now produces particles.
  • The text displaying speed of dialogs has been increased.
  • You can no longer die during the tutorial.
  • When focusing an item, a button prompt has been added below the description to show how to pick it up.
  • Button prompts have been added near the offensive and defensive abilities to show how to use them.
  • The number of damage taken from traps needed to unlock certain perks has been reduced.
  • A bug where binding SHIFT didn’t show the key image was fixed.
  • You can now use SPACE aswell as ENTER to validate in the menus, except in the keyboard bindings page.
  • In the settings (for fields other than key bindings), you can now change the values directly by moving left or right instead of having to press ENTER before and after.
  • The distance at which the coins get attracted by the player has been increased.
  • The damage dealt to enemies by reflected canon bullets has been increased.
  • Genetic Containers now have more sound effects.
  • Fixed a bug where the game went back into fullscreen mode when alt-tabbing even when windowed mode was selected in the options.
  • Fixed a bug where exiting a menu page after having modified the value of an option would keep displaying that value without having applied it.
  • Default keybindings have been changed and are now using the mouse.
  • The volume of the stinger playing when entering The Hole or the Training Grounds has been lowered.
  • There is now an indication telling you how to begin the fight in the Challenge Rooms.
  • The final boss difficulty has been increased.
  • The Ogre Champion health has been increased.
  • Fixed a bug where the player couldn’t bounce on canon bullets.
  • Fixed a bug where the description box of an item that was at the top of the screen was being cut off.
  • Fixed a bug where starting items appeared in the tutorial after having done it once.
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn’t hit a dummy with a spear.
  • Levels have been renamed to perk points so it is less confusing.
  • Challenges with getting hit by traps have been fixed.
  • Poop now also gives 100 Armor Damage Reflection.

New in Space Gladiators - Escaping Tartarus Demo 0.1.3 (Apr 30, 2019)

  • Today's update is all about adding a new type of room you might come across from now on: the Challenge Room!
  • This room will be hidden behind a dedicated signpost and introduces a new enemy: the Genetic Container.
  • This container spawns other enemies at regular intervals of times until destroyed. A specific container can only spawn one kind of enemy, which is being assigned randomly at its creation.
  • Three of them are created at random positions (chosen among a few predefined spots) when you begin the challenge. If you manage to destroy all of them and their offsprings, you will be rewarded with a high-tier item and a lot of coins.
  • Some other minor changes were also made:
  • Big Brains's meatballs now disappear when he dies.
  • There is now an indication in the inventory window to show the player he can cycle through his stats and his passive items to display their description.
