Soda Dungeon
Use crazy heroes to clear dungeons and collect powerful loot in this retro RPG with amusing gameplay mechanics #Dungeon crawler #Arcade RPG #Adventure game #Dungeon #RPG #Adventure
Raiding dungeons is a classic RPG concept, and it will probably never go away as long as the genre exists. Granted, modern video games feature a lot more open space and big maps for players to explore, but they still include the occasional dungeon. Dungeons are always the perfect places to find exquisite loot, because most monsters prefer to haul treasure in there.
Soda Dungeon is a casual dungeon crawler with clicker elements and a unique set of gameplay mechanics, in which you do not get to battle monsters personally, but you get to keep the loot and the gold they drop. Hence, the goal is to hire mighty heroes at the tavern and send them on quests, as well as equip them with powerful items to make sure they manage to survive long enough to be worth the investment.
It all starts with a single hero, on the other hand, although he mostly accepts the job because he is very pumped after drinking a weird soda. After that, you can hire other adventurers that make their way to the tavern, and they get much more professional later on. It’s also possible to provide them with weapons or various other items to increase their effectiveness and stand a better chance at getting further into the dungeon.
Since the tavern is where you get your entire party, you have the option to expand and improve it over the course of the game, which allows more heroes to visit and be a part of your team. More chairs, better service and special attractions make it a lot easier to fill the tavern with mighty warriors, which in turn helps you get richer. Granted, you have to spend money to make money, but that’s to be expected.
The bad part is that besides upgrading your establishment or collecting the loot at the end of a raid there’s nothing much for you to do other than wait. Most of your in-game time is spent idling away while the heroes auto-attack their targets in repetitive dungeons, so interaction is not the game’s strong point. On the other hand, there are far more options at your disposal than in a classic clicker game, not to mention all the strategies you can put together using different heroes and items.
All things considered, Soda Dungeon is one of the most exciting casual games you can get your hands on at the moment, especially if you do not mind the long waiting periods. It comes with enough content to keep you coming back for many hours.
What's new in Soda Dungeon 1.2.44:
- Hey everyone- we hit a pretty big snag with our main database/file server over the weekend. This basically crashed file transfers across all platforms and also IAP for Steam.
- The 1.2.44 update fixes these issues for Steam. We are currently still working on the other platforms. So for right now file transfers will only work for Steam to Steam instances. Stay tuned!
