HumanKind: The Awakening Online Client
Decide the future of humanity in CCG that presents you with the conflict between four factions #Card game #Strategy game #Online ccg #Card #Strategy #Ccg
It would appear that the CCG market is booming at the moment, with dozens of games out there to choose from, depending on whether you like fantasy tropes, sci-fi stories, or anything in between. You can also pick your game depending on whether you are a veteran of the genre or you are just starting out, because the mechanics vary a lot in the genre.
HumanKind: The Awakening is a multiplayer-oriented TCG in which you get to battle other players, collect valuable cards and use them to come up with cunning strategies. Although bits of the interface might look familiar to you, the gameplay is actually fairly unique, especially since the battles have multiple phases. You are also free to customize your decks to fit your style of play.
The story is not very important in the grand scheme of things, given the fact that most of it is not really explained, since there is no single player campaign. However, there are four different factions to choose from, and each one of them has unique cards that force you to use specific strategies. There are multiple game modes as well, including casual, tournament and league.
As mentioned before, the game is multiplayer-oriented, which means that your enemies are always other human players. This can be a bit disorienting at first, at least if you decide to skip the tutorial for some reason, but it’s definitely more fun than playing with bots. On the other hand, it can take a while for the servers to find a match for you sometimes, which can be a bit annoying.
In terms of interface, the game is clearly unfinished, given the fact that quite a bit of text is still in Spanish, and it can be difficult to find your way around some of the menus and windows. The tutorial is not particularly helpful most of the time, because the mechanics appear to be more complex than the guide lets on. The artwork is definitely good, but it can obstruct your view sometimes.
Even if HumanKind: The Awakening definitely needs more work in order to be completed, it still has the appeal to keep you playing for a while. Thus, the four different factions and all the interesting cards are pretty intriguing.
