Owning a business can be a tad easier nowadays, given the fact that you can get your idea out there a lot quicker with the help of the Internet. In fact, websites like Kickstarter even allow you to ask for money from your supporters in order to start producing a specific item, which is a lot easier than looking for investors. Even so, large businesses are still pretty tough to get up and running without a decent budget.

Aloha Paradise Hotel is a simulation game that allows you to build a hotel from scratch and customize every little detail about it in order to attract tourists and get their money. The game is pretty old-school in many regards, especially when it comes to the interface, so do not expect anything too riveting. In fact, it can be difficult to get started, since there are not enough guides included with the game.

It all begins on a beautiful tropical island, although you kind of have to imagine the beautiful part yourself, because the graphics are sub-par. You really start off with nothing, so it’s important to have a plan in order to lay the foundations of your hotel. Unfortunately, it’s not very clear how to do that, so you might find yourself unable to find the right options or building items to get started.

The other annoying thing about the game is the interface, because it can be very sluggish and downright ugly sometimes. Finding things is very difficult, and there’s a constant lack of explanations throughout the game. This is not a problem when the whole point is to figure things out by yourself, but in this case that is just not cool. Hence, frustration can kick in rather quickly, which might turn you off for good.

Lastly, the technical aspects are a bit shameful as well, especially for a game released in 2017. The graphics are particularly ugly and unrefined, even for a casual experience, since the foliage is downright awful, and the island as a whole is about 50 meters wide. You can zoom in and out if you please, but zooming in too much can make things worse, because you expose the low-resolution textures even more.

All things considered, Aloha Paradise Hotel does not manage to keep you engaged for too long, mainly because the interface is awful, the graphics are outdated and the gameplay is annoying. Thus, you might be better off trying a similar game instead.=
