Wheel of Fortune, the hit TV show that started in 1975 and hasn’t stopped since then. It’s one of the most popular game shows that has ever hit livingroom TVs and has spawned versions of it all around the world. Like with most hit shows, it made its way to PCs as well, under the form of a game.

In Wheel of Fortune, the rules are very simple. Each contestant spins a large carnival wheel and tries to solve word puzzles that are similar to those in Hangman. Each correct answer makes sure that the contestant gets rewarded with money and if he or she wins, well, it’s all for the best.

However, in Wheel of Fortune you are the only contender for the prize, as the two other spots in the game are left empty. Not even AI can fill them, and a human opponent or two are out of the question. The latter part of the gameplay implements a huge disadvantage for you because being the only one guessing; you have a lot more chances of messing up. There are no two others who can eliminate bad letters or provide even the slightest hint.

Although the gameplay is very easy to pick up and master, getting the right answers is a completely different story. Even if you have the luck of unveiling some of the key letters from the sentence or saying, you still need to be a genuine connoisseur of American culture and TV to guess what’s on the board.

There are no hints and in a lot of cases, you will loose turns and go bankrupt with a simple turn of the wheel. Wheel of Fortune would have been a lot better if you could have at least one human player join in. Playing all on your own, it feels unfair.

To end, Wheel of Fortune is an old game with very little to offer in these gaming times. There are other casual games you could be trying, and eve if you’re a huge fan of Wheel of Fortune, it’s still shouldn’t be a first choice.
