The World Wars that have scarred history so far have marked entire generations of people, and they ended up being more than military displays of power. Those that were too young to comprehend what exactly was happening forged fantasy settings and realities to make it easier for their frail minds to comprehend and that is precisely the approach that My Memory of Us uses.

The first things you'll notice when playing the game are the visuals, which are in a style that would make you think a child drew them.  Considering that what we are talking about here is nothing more that a throwback of what used to be, you can presume that maybe that's how the protagonists remembered the events. Secondly, the music is also something noteworthy, as it succeeds in creating something that is both pure and enchanting, as if that is how you remembered your childhood sounding like.

Without beating around the bush, we have to say it as it is: My Memory of Us is the story about how two children, a boy, and a girl, perceived the horrors of World War II and the effects of the Nazi regime. The entire game is nothing more than the innocent fabrication of their minds, of how they managed to get over the adversities of the world.

The game lets you test out "pair mechanics": control one of two characters with different abilities, or control them as a pair There is no life bar, no combat, and no weapon drops since you control two children, and dealing with opponents is usually done passively, either by hiding or escaping, which makes you realize how helpless they were. There are no Nazis, just cold-hearted "robots," and there are no obstacles, just puzzles that they have to solve.

Given the topic that this game approaches, you can pretty much figure out yourself that the story will pull on your heart-strings, either by making you cry in joy, or cry in sadness. Either way, you put it, you will shed at least a few tears. As such, My Memory of Us is a perfect addition to anyone's digital library, especially if they are the types that enjoy a good story, casual gameplay and an experience that is overall impossible to forget.
