Mozaki Blocks Deluxe Demo

For obvious reasons, Tetris managed to reach the top spot and become the bestselling video game of all time, which is not at all a surprise, considering the fact that everyone knows about it. Even if the underlying concept is as simple as it gets, the gameplay evolves over the course of the levels, not to mention the fact that the difficulty is constantly increasing as well.

Mozaki Blocks Deluxe takes the Tetris gameplay mechanics a bit further and puts a spin on them as well, which means that the resulting game barely resembles the old classic. As such, the goal here is to join the center of the board with one of the margins, although you must use blocks that are of the same color as the margin in question. Otherwise, the blocks you create have no value.

Each level requires you to score a certain number of points, although things change in a variety of ways as you manage to go further and further. The colors and the complexity of the shapes change over time, not to mention the fact that the board gets more and more cluttered with random pieces. However, you only need to find a way to integrate the said pieces into your design.

Although the idea is not exactly simple, you should not have any trouble figuring out what your task is. If you do run into difficulties, on the other hand, the game includes a tutorial as well, which explains in detail what you should be doing. Speaking of which, various power-ups make an appearance every now and again, such as an eraser that allows you to remove pieces from the board.

The Undo function is included as well, although you cannot abuse it as you may think. It is quite fun to try and build large blocks without touching the sides, especially because they yield a lot more points if you manage to pull it off. Lastly, the visual quality is not bad at all, although there’s nothing memorable about the graphics either.

When it’s all said and done, Mozaki Blocks Deluxe can prove to be quite the experience, at least if you enjoy puzzle games. On the other hand, the gameplay mechanics might prove to be too tedious for some players, especially in the later levels.
