FlySim

FlySim is a game for those who have a thing for fly fishing and a complete disregard for graphics or their quality. It provides you with multiple fishing locations, several species of fish and lure types, and physics that work quite well.

Or, you have to be very patient in the game because that’s how fishing works. To be successful at it you need skill and patience and in FlySim that still applies. If you’re new to fly fishing, even in real life, you’ll have to put in some time before you fully grasp the gameplay, mechanics.

FlySim is not a hard game to play; it’s actually very straightforward and in terms of how it works, it’s stripped down to have just the essentials. Before you go fishing, you pick a location, check the hatch chart to see what lure is best and then you pick the bait.

One thing that’s nice about FlySim is that you can move up and down the stream to find a suitable fishing spot. Fish move around, and so can you. That gives you a bit more of the fly fishing experience.

The graphics to the game don’t do it any favors because they are a bit outdated, but the game works just fine. Even if you don’t fish on a regular basis, or even occasionally, it’s easy to see that there is a good dose of accuracy in FlySim.

FlySim, although not visually appealing, should be an option for fishing fans. There is some variety to it, water currents influence the outcome of things, fish seem to have a brain, and there’s more to it. The price, however, is a bit too steep.
