Boggle Supreme is no longer supported, so it is now impossible to purchase the application. Nonetheless, you can still download it from Softpedia and use it with the limitations listed on this page.
Most fantasy games involve at least a handful of demons and the occasional spell, otherwise they wouldn’t fit in the niche. Hence, it’s usually a fight between good and evil featuring knights, mages and monsters, while the player has to either control one hero, or the entire army. On the other hand, you can really go off script and see what happens, although there still has to be a logic in the end.
Dark Wheel does not seem to worry about logic, however, because it clearly has nothing to do with the classic fantasy genre. As such, your role is to drive a truck around a modern city, while trying to deal with a powerful talisman capable of summoning demons. The entire game is about driving around an open map, although you also have the possibility to enter a few buildings.
The story begins with your grandfather dying, but not before he tells you the secret behind your father’s disappearance. As it happens, he and a couple of other people from your village once toyed with an ancient artifact, which summoned a couple of demons and burned down the entire settlement. Now, you must take the family truck and go on a journey to find out the truth, while also investigating the talisman in question.
The game itself is not very friendly when it comes to controls, because the truck handles poorly and you barely have any control over the vehicle in some cases. All you can do is drive around the environment, with no map or pointers about where you should be going. To make matters worse, the landscape is barren and repetitive, so you’ll need a lot of practice to start recognizing places. Every now and again, you can discover hidden places and enter buildings, which brings you closer to unraveling the mystery of the talisman.
Unfortunately, you might not stick around to find out the truth, because it’s a real pain to keep playing for more than a few minutes. The visual quality is atrocious as well, given the fact that the environments are washed out and featureless, while the truck is not very detailed either. In fact, there’s barely anything to see or do, other than driving around aimlessly.
In the end, Dark Wheel may have started with something exciting, but the developers seem to have stopped there. As such, the experience is extremely boring and pointless, regardless of how you choose to look at the game.
