Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is an action adventure platformer that draws the action from the movie with the same name. In it, you play as Flint, a highly creative inventor who has to save the day from one of his inventions that ends up backfiring.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs starts with the island already in a full-on mutated food crisis. Equipped with two handy gadgets, Flint must clear the town of the hostile food and deadly hot sauce before it’s too late.

You suck up some guacamole sauce and use it to create walkable paths in the game, and you get to smash tortillas with your spring activated boxing fist invention, or whatever it’s called. Moreover, you get to play the game in co-op mode because Steve the talking monkey can join in on the action.

The movie side of the game is well-covered because everything looks as it should. In terms of how things play out, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a very good game.

Its gameplay mechanics are spot on; the controls are great, and the level design makes playing an enjoyable experience. This is not what you would call a difficult game, but it is one you can refer to as being fun. After all, what other game lets you use a robotic arm to punch killer gummy bears so that afterwards you can throw giant hamburgers?

Although the demo is very short, half an hour if you take things slowly, it’s enough to convince you that this is going to be a fun game even if you’re not a fan of the movies. Give it a shot, catapult some mutant hamburgers.
