ChessRally

ChessRally is another game in the long line of products that feature the wonderfully complex and challenging game of chess. Depending on your expectations or needs, ChessRally has its strengths and weaknesses, but in most part, it’s what chess fans should try out.

In real life, you don’t have a risk indicator or suggested moves, and neither do you have automated moves history, but in ChessRally you do. That’s one of the biggest advantages of a digital chess game; it can help you learn a lot and that prepares you for matches in a better way.

ChessRally is not what you call a slick game by design; it’s more on the practical side of things. The wood polish and textures might not be all that appealing, but it makes up for it in features and little gameplay details.

Nearly all PC chess games have local game support where two people can play at the same computer. It’s not that big of a deal. However, ChessRally takes things a bit further by implementing ‘Email’, ‘Direct network’ and ‘Online Rally Rooms’ modes.

Each one of those either allows you to play with a friend through email exchange, over a local area network, or with strangers in virtual chat rooms. The latter is a very good feature because it allows you to play chess with a wide range of people who possess different levels of expertise and play styles.

When it comes to ChessRally, there is much more to talk about besides what has been mentioned above. The list is long so we won’t go through it, but you will be pleasantly surprised with all that it has to offer.
