Cake Mania is a fast-clicker and a time management game, which means that you really have to react quickly in order to achieve your goals. Your goal is to take the orders from your customers and try to respect them, while also doing your best to move quickly and avoid making them wait for too long. Naturally, things get more complicated than that over the course of the game.

There are multiple types of cakes, which actually translate into a few different shapes. Not only that, but customers prefer a certain kind of frosting as well, which is double the work. In case you mess up the order, the customer won’t accept the cake at all and you have to take it from the top. Each client has a satisfaction level when he walks into the shop, but it quickly declines if you do not manage to serve his order in a timely fashion. The less happy he is, the smaller the tip he leaves you.

In the beginning, you are able to deal with the few orders without too much trouble and with just a few basic pieces of equipment. However, as the customers get more numerous, you have to invest the money you make into better and faster tools. Hence, better ovens, frosting machines and microwaves are available to purchase, all of which get you more profit in the long run.

Speaking of which, you should not underestimate the game’s difficulty level, because it may take you a while until you get good enough to pass some of the stages. The graphics engine is quite colorful and simple, which means that the environments are in two dimensions, and everything looks more or less like a Flash flick. However, the animations are smooth and you can enjoy a variety of interesting effects.

Although Cake Mania is a tad more difficult than some fans might want, the experience is still pretty fun and exciting. The fact that you can upgrade the equipment makes you feel like you are playing for something, not to mention all the money you make along the way.
