Bombardix

Bombardix is an old indie game that aims to offer a casual experience in the arcade world. It’s a game that bares a lot of resemblance to the classic and awesome Bomberman or Dynablaster, or Dyna.

In Bombardix, your goal for each level is simple and straightforward. Using your bombs, you have to blow up all the creatures that exist inside the maze and are out to get you.

Each level is designed as a randomized maze within a standard space. All the levels have a fixed number of enemies and from time to time, new ones make appearances. Once you manage to defeat all the monsters, you can exit the level but only after you find the doorway.

That’s all there is to it, and although it seems easy, it’s a bit more difficult than the game it draws inspiration from. Somehow, the AI of the enemies is a bit better, making them harder to trap and kill.

Since the concepts of the levels and gameplay are the same, why not use the same power ups? In Bombardix, you also get to find extra bombs, improved flames, speed boosts, and of course, extra lives. You’ll be needing those.

Moreover, like in the original, you also get to explore more than one world, Bombardix offering five of them to play in, all totaling well over one hundred levels. There are a few hours of game time with Bombardix.

Bombardix doesn’t rival even the oldest of Bomberman versions. It’s a nice indie but it lacks personality, and the gameplay is a bit slow-paced.
