Billy Blade and the Temple of Time Demo
Fight pirates and search for a way to travel through time in this third-person action/adventure game #Billy Blade #Temple of Time #Adventure game #Billy #Blade #Temple
Time travel is a tricky plot gimmick and it’s difficult to use it properly, especially if you want to avoid paradoxes and make the story compelling. On the other hand, it is also exciting to see people travel through time, whether in the past or the future, which is why the audience is willing to accept a few inconsistencies if the experience is enjoyable.
Billy Blade and the Temple of Time is a third-person action/adventure game in which you play the role of Billy Blade, a brave young man who’s willing to sacrifice anything in order to save his friend, a monkey named Kong. Although most of your time is going to be spent fighting a variety of enemies, there are some puzzle and platformer elements as well, which are not very well implemented, unfortunately.
The plot makes no effort to be compelling or realistic, which means that it’s pointless to search for inconsistencies. In essence, it all revolves around a powerful time crystal, which allows Billy to travel through time and jump from period to period in search of his friend. This leads him to fantastic places throughout history, including Persia and a few island occupied by cursed pirates.
As mentioned earlier, the combat aspect is quite important in the grand scheme of things, because there are many enemies you have to get past in order to reach your goal. However, the gameplay is very rigid and unpleasant, not to mention the fact that your character only knows a handful of attacks. This gets boring in a flash, although the platforming sections can take your mind off things for a while.
Even so, the camera is awful and the controls are terrible, which is always a dangerous combination. Given the fact that you must react quickly in most situations and be aware of our surroundings, the game may prove to be too annoying to continue after a while. The levels are painfully linear and devoid of anything interesting, which makes it that much more difficult to enjoy the adventure.
When it’s all said and done, Billy Blade and the Temple of Time could have done a lot more with the elements at its disposal, but it failed to do so. As such, the experience is painful and annoying, mostly because of the awful combat system and the bad camera controls.
