Backspin Billiards Demo
Play billiard against the computer in this realistic simulator featuring multiple game modes and the possibility to customize the rules #Pool game #Billiard simulator #8-ball sim #Billiard #Pool #Cue
Pool is a pretty competitive game, although it can also be relaxing and fun if you are not too invested in the action. However, unless you own a pool table at home, it is rather difficult to play it whenever you feel like it, given the fact that you have to go out and pay a fee to use a table. On the other hand, it’s much handier to just play on the computer, especially if the simulation is close enough to reality to be convincing.
Backspin Billiards is a pool simulator that includes a variety of game modes and all the customization you could wish for, especially when it comes to the rules. Hence, not only you get to choose the pool variant that suits you best, but it is also up to you to change the rules by which the matches are played. Thus, you should have everything you need in order to experience a satisfying round of pool.
8-Ball, 9-ball and the European 9-Ball variants are all included, as well as a couple of less popular versions. To make things more interesting, a few challenges are part of the fun too, such as trick shots, time trials and a mode named “Golf”. These may not abide by any pool standards, but they are quite entertaining, and they should break the monotony of playing the same thing over and over again.
The gameplay mechanics are not very complex, but they do not need to be anyway. On the other hand, it is of utmost importance that the controls are accurate and responsive, because the only thing stopping you from pocketing the balls should be your skillset, not the game itself. Thankfully, everything is spot on in this regard, especially since you have pointers to provide you with help if you need it.
The physics engine is decent as well, although the balls seem to travel a bit too much after they are hit. However, you can get used to it, and the collision system is convincing enough to make the experience feel realistic most of the time. The graphics are not bad either, but they are not flashy in any way, and there is no way to move the camera around, unfortunately.
All things considered, Backspin Billiards is well-polished and packed with features, so it should last you a long time before you get bored. The fun extra modes extend the game’s lasting appeal even more, especially if you enjoy a challenge every now and again.
