Azangara Demo
Explore a fascinating world and collect all the gems in this casual platformer with a variety of colorful levels #Arcade platformer #Collect diamond #Retro platformer #Platformer #Arcade #Sidescroller
Classic platformers did not worry too much about things like a coherent storyline, or rich dialog trees with the possibility to choose between a variety of outcomes. Instead, the developers tried their best to make the experience as enjoyable and as challenging as possible for the players, using all sorts of traps and tricks. In some cases, this worked much better than expected, which is why series like Sonic and Mario are so beloved.
Azangara is nothing out of the ordinary, but it does try to captivate a portion of the casual gaming community. The gameplay mechanics are as simple as possible, but the actual levels require a bit of attention and patience to pass. Hence, there are traps everywhere you look, not to mention the enemies that roam the environment and make it even more difficult for you to escape unharmed.
The main goal of the game is to travel from one castle to the other and collect all the diamonds in the meantime, while obviously trying to stay alive through all of it. Each castle is different and features another set of challenges, ranging from simple holes with fire at the bottom, all the way to oscillating platforms and a few other clever obstacles. New enemies make an appearance every time you get to another castle.
Besides the diamonds, a handful of other items can be picked up along the way, most of which are weapons to use against the monsters roaming the dungeons. However, keys are also important, because they allow you to open doors that block the way further into the castles. As a bonus challenge, these keys come in a variety of colors, as do the doors they open. Hence, you must match the keys with the doors in order to open them.
Visually, the game uses a 3D engine to render the characters and the environments, but the perspective does not really allow you to enjoy all three of them. Instead, you must make due with the classic platformer view, which is much easier to handle. The game world is a bit dull and unimpressive, although the environments change whenever you get to visit a different castle.
Azangara is as simple and predictable as wet stones after rain, especially if you are familiar with the genre. On the other hand, if you are just interested in something light for a boring afternoon, then its simplicity probably won’t matter too much.
