Alonix

Alonix is an an arcade game that fuses multiple mini-games into one casual experience. It draws most of its inspiration from the classic Pac-Man game and adds new mechanics to spice things up a bit.

Alonix comes with five game modes that revolve around the same controls but pitch different objectives. The first, Easy Walk, takes you into the Pac-Man zone because instead of pellets you have to collect amethysts inside a maze while enemies chase you.

The others, Brick Platform, Crazy Trek, Deep Space, and Impossible, require you to convert bricks, reconstruct stuff, place crystals, and overcome various obstacles. Alonix offers a good deal of variety as far as casual arcade games go, and that’s a nice advantage to it.

Alonix is a game that has a good deal of years behind it and for that reason the graphics it offers are sort of retro. However, the gameplay is solid; the controls are intuitive; every part of the gameplay mechanics works like a charm. It is expected, though, Alonix is not a complicated game.

As far as the difficulty goes, the enemies have movement patterns but they will still catch you by surprise. If you’re not careful, you can easily become trapped but if you plan ahead, you can make good use of all the power ups that spawn all around.

Despite its age and looks, Alonix is a nice game. The level variety keeps you interested; the gameplay is smooth, and it has the right kind of balance between casual and challenging.
