Tropico 2 is a strategy game in which you take on the role of the Pirate King and expand your wealth as well as your power.

The player needs to run the pirate island and do whatever it takes to make himself and his pirates happy. You will have to keep both your pirates and the captives in line through means of work and fear.

Captives are the most important commodity you have because they do all the work and if they do well, it's possible to promote them to pirates. The downside to this second title is the fact that players have less economy focused gameplay to worry about, making the game less captivating.
