A franchise can flourish whenever it manages to establish itself in various media, such as having a movie after a game, or vice versa. Wakfu, on the other hand, manages to capture our hearts with a sense of comedy through either the MMORPG or the animated series that is currently at its 3rd season.

If you first started off by watching the series, fell in love with it and then decided to try the game, then you're a fan taste buds will be delighted to meet all the series' characters, along with familiar locations and monsters. The graphics, just like the animated series, are a blend of traditional cartoon design and anime, thus managing to appeal to fans of both genres. The fact that the game is rendered in 2D also makes it lightweight, ideal for when you lack disk space or an overall high-performance machine, with the art style being of the highest quality available.

Like all other MMOs, you equip a weapon, clobber anything you see moving or attacks you first, grow stronger etc. Of course, this grind fest would be nothing if you didn't have access to the occasional quest that would remind you that you are not in any typical MMO, but in Wakfu. The game currently boasts 18 classes, each of which are based on the series' protagonists. This means that you fill in their role since there isn't much character customization to talk about except changing the gender. Partying is possible for challenging tougher opponents, with each class being able to fulfill several roles. This means that there will never be a lack of a healer or tank since pretty much half the classes can do both.

While Wakfu may not bring anything new regarding features or game mechanics, you cannot deny that it is definitely fun to play. Coupling a gaming session between a few episodes of the animated series will make everything even more enjoyable.
