Be a part of the war between three rival factions in this casual strategy game playable online #Tom clancy #Strategy game #Online strategy #Clancy #Endwar #Strategy
The Tom Clancy game series spans across a couple of different genres, which includes shooters, simulators and strategy games. Whether you are a fan of Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell, or you’d much rather enjoy some team action in Rainbow Six, there’s enough war for everyone. However, one of the other successful games in the Tom Clancy universe was EndWar, which was a real-time strategy game.
Tom Clancy’s EndWar Online aims to be a slightly upgraded version in regards to features, yet a downgrade when it comes to gameplay depth, graphics and everything else. That is not a problem per se, but any old fans of the old game should go in prepared to deal with entirely a different type of experience. In short, this is a Facebook game with a lot of clicking and a bit of strategy when it comes to managing units.
There are three factions to choose from when you start the game, each one of which obviously comes with different units and commanders. The latter are actually very important to the gameplay, because they are able to use special abilities that inflict a great deal of damage on the battlefield. However, you need to acquire wealth in order to recruit them, or even pay actual money.
As mentioned before, the gameplay is nowhere near the complexity of a true real-time strategy game. Instead, you can only deploy your units on three separate lanes, and it’s the way you do this split that decides the outcome. Each mission is somehow different, but the end goal is practically the same all the time. Still, the fun is in the creation of your army and its composition.
You can also level up your commanders and make them more powerful, which comes in handy when you want to tackle more difficult missions. Although this isn’t really an MMO, you can battle other human players in the Skirmish mode, which can be pretty intense. The graphics are as simple as they can get, but they are certainly better than most browser games out there.
All things being considered, Tom Clancy’s EndWar Online probably won’t convince any StarCraft or Supreme Commander fans to join in, but it’s great if you are a casual player with some time to waste. There’s enough content to keep you busy for a long time.
