Animes are well-known for taking every single human trope, be it love, horror, action and more, and dialing it up to extreme levels, and that is how genres like "girls-with-guns" have spawned and have been successful ever since. Anime-inspired games are no different, as they showcase fantastic battles, exaggerated weapons of ridiculous proportions and combat that is so acrobatic you'd think you're at the circus. SoulWorker is one such anime MMO, and it was designed as if to encompass all things anime and deliver them o you in a single game package.

If you're the type of person that would try the game just for the sake of the anime-graphics, then you are in for a treat. The entire game is rendered in high-quality cel-shaded graphics, making it look like you are living in a real anime world. Even the monsters, buildings, atmosphere, special effects, and the wonderful music scream that this title was made for the anime community.

The game lets you choose from a somewhat limited roster of characters, each with their own look, weapon of choice, playstyle and difficulty level. As far as customization goes, not much can be done about the avatars, except for clothing and some color tweaks, since any serious alterations would make the character look non-canonical to the in-game cut-scenes that are drawn in manga style.

As far as combat goes, the game is pretty easy to master, even when using characters deemed to have a high difficulty rating.  The monsters you encounter are fairly easy to face, and since most of your attacks deal AoE damage, a room full of enemies is suddenly not so intimidating anymore. More so, ragdoll physics in combat make it so that if you're quick enough with your fingers, minor enemies might never even get the chance to strike back at you.

While theoretically, it could be easy just to hold down the mouse buttons to complete a fight, this would make combat rather boring, so the game introduces the combo rating system. Chaining in special moves between regular attacks uninterrupted will grant you a higher rating at the end of an encounter, thus resulting in better loot. All encounters are instance based, meaning the game can easily be played in short sessions if time is a commodity.

Although several hours into the game you'll realize that you'll be doing a lot of farming, the game will still fresh and entertaining thanks to the neat graphics, music and combat system that will make each instance run feel like an all-new adventure.
