MMORPGs offer open worlds and enable you to compete against players from all over the world. The combination of genres provides a unique gameplay with a lot of features and tasks to perform. Shaiya is a fantasy game that offers adventure, competitive combat and particular difficulty modes.

At the beginning of the game, you can choose between two factions. Each one offers different races and classes. It is designed to be a clash between light versus dark with various actors on both sides. In reality, the classes are named differently but perform the same actions in the group dynamics. You can be a damage dealer, a healer or a tank. Some classes are race-bound, so you will be limited by this when creating a new character.

The gameplay is standard for role-playing games. You are in control of your character, and you must perform quests or kill monsters to gain experience. The controls are a combination of keyboard buttons and mouse actions. Skills and buffs ensure that you will be able to execute powerful combos to eliminate your enemies.

MMORPGs distinguish themselves through solo and collaborative gaming. Should you die at the hands of NPCs or enemy players, you will be resurrected at a particular location. However, Shaiya offers a difficulty mode in which if you die, you have a limited time to be resurrected by a player's ability or an in-game item. This mode is designed for experienced players who can handle the pressure of permanently losing their characters. However, you gain access to more powerful items, and leveling is significantly faster.

The graphics of the game are medium for the genre. MMORPGs boast fantastic designs and accurate details. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Shaiya. Some equipment items are not displayed correctly on your character, the buildings seem rough around the edges, and various backgrounds are rendered poorly. The characters seem sluggish at times without an apparent cause.

To be brief, Shaiya is a huge game with a few features that most games in the genre do not provide. It is big enough to make you spend hours playing, but there are some drawbacks in the graphics department. The game is free to play, but there are in-game items which can be purchased.
