RPG World - Action RPG Maker

We've all played MMOs, lots of them, and while each had their element that charmed us more or less, there was always a tingling thought behind our head, regarding how we could improve it. That precise way of thinking is what lead to the creation of RPG World - Action RPG Maker, a unique blend between an MMORPG and a content creator.

If you're looking for flashy graphics, anisotropic filtering, advanced shaders, and projected textures, you might as well go ahead and look for another MMO. However, if you're looking for an MMO where you can have fun plain and simple, then RPG World - Action RPG Maker is what you are looking for. Admittedly the graphics look a bit dated considering the game is new, it allows it to be run on even the oldest of PC systems, as long as they support 3D modeling.

There is no story arc since it is expected that the players are the ones that create all of the content. You start in a HUB world from where you take portals to adventure worlds created by either other players, or already in the game. The combat is basic, relying on mouse-clicking and tab-targeting, and none of the available classes have more or less than four abilities.

RPG World - Action RPG Maker world creator mode is where this game truly shines. You are given an empty map which you fill out with numerous elements, from terrain elements to buildings, decorations and even the mobs you are supposed to encounter. Loot is procedurally generated based on the overall difficulty of the content created, so farming the same map containing just one boss will be useless.

While not the most polished MMO out there, RPG World - Action RPG Maker shows the potential to grow into something great, allowing players to journey on their adventures, and invite friends to test out their death traps.
