Last Chaos Online

MMORPGs are a breed of games that let us escape the reality of our mundane world and become the heroes we always wanted. It can be something purely historical, or fantasy, or sci-fi, but the common consensus is that you are the world savior. Last Chaos Online is a medieval fantasy MMORPG with Eastern-style graphics where you have to choose from a variety of classes and discover the secrets of the world you live in.

The game offers a wide selection of character classes to choose from (currently 9) some of which are more or less based on the warrior, spellcaster, priest and rogue archetypes. However, in Last Chaos Online, they are known as the Titan, Knight, Healer, Mage, Rogue, Sorcerer, Ex-Rogue and ArchMage, and Nightshadow. All of them look, feel and play differently, and since you can create up to 8 characters, you might as well try them all.

Last Chaos Online doesn't shine too much in the story department, and the quests are a testament to that, as they are nothing more than excuses for you to kill monsters, level up, and then move to the next area to do the same. Eventually, when you reach the level cap (as with all MMORPGs), you can choose the path of PVE to get end-game gear from dungeon bosses or go for PvP, which seems to be the more exciting option as far as the current state of the game shows. Admittedly, besides the character classes and their powers, Last Chaos Online doesn't shine too much as far as originality goes.

Last Chaos Online is one of those MMOs that stood the test a time valiantly, and it still boasts a population that is high enough to make it relevant for constant updates and events. If you're a fan of old-school MMORPGs that aren't WoW, then Last Chaos Online is indeed worth giving a shot.
