Enhanced Wasteland Preset - Fallout 4 Mod

Fallout 4 has landed not long ago, but modders are already working around the clock to improve the experience and fix some of Bethesda's mistakes. However, not many people expected to see a graphics mod so soon, even a simple one such as this visual preset. Although it doesn't actually change anything about the engine or the textures, the Enhanced Wasteland Preset truly makes a difference in some cases. Not only are the colors more pronounced and vibrant, but there is some additional post-processing at work as well.

In truth, this is not actually a new mod designed for Fallout 4 in particular, but rather a configuration file for the already legendary SweetFX mod. In case you are not familiar with it, the mod in question works with a huge number of games, but it needs to be customized for each title. Even so, it's great to already have a way to make Fallout 4 look even better, and so soon after its official release.

In case you want to get technical, the Enhanced Wasteland Preset tweaks the color scheme a little bit in order to make everything appear more vibrant. There are also special effects like SMAA, Dither, FXAA, Lumasharpen and LiftGammaGain involved, and you actually have the option to enable or disable them at will using the configuration file.

Place all the files in your root Fallout 4 game directory. This should be located at:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4"

Run the game normally through the launcher and it should load with your new SweetFX Preset. Note: This preset is not guaranteed to work on 32-bit systems.
