Zulu Response Demo
Take part in the historical battle between the British forces and the Zulu in this realistic first-person shooter #First-person shooter #Tactical shooter #Action game #Shooter #Action #FPS
Wars are rarely fair, given the fact that both sides do everything they can in order to win and put an end to the bloodshed. However, there were cases where one of the factions was severely outmatched from a technological point of view. One of the most famous of these conflicts was between the British forces and the Zulu, where muskets clashed with wooden shields and spears.
Zulu Response is an interesting first-person shooter that puts you in the role of a British soldier during the war with the Zulu forces, or vice-versa, and your task is to complete various objectives while avoiding a gruesome death. Naturally, the mechanics change completely once you switch sides, and there are many other elements that can be customized to make the battles more intense. To begin with, almost everything about the difficulty level can be adjusted, including the amount of damage you suffer when you get hit. The AI is also highly customizable, since you can even change the movement speed and health of enemy soldiers. You also have to keep an eye on various objectives, such as defending your position of mounting a risky offense.
Tackling such an unusual battle is as tricky as it sounds, given the fact that there are not many games like this out there. Just like in a real war, there’s a lot of confusion on the battlefield, since you are never really sure where the enemy is and how your comrades are reacting to the events around them. Most maps are riddled with bushes, hills and other obstacles that make it difficult to focus, so the atmosphere is pretty intense most of the time. Unfortunately, the game is still quite unpolished at this point, especially in the graphics department. Even if this is Unreal Engine 4, the textures are not particularly pretty, and the smoke has a tendency to appear and disappear at random intervals. The animations aren’t great either, but you have to remember the fact that this is an indie production with a relatively small development team. At least the sounds and the music are nicely implemented.
Zulu Response certainly has its fair share of flaws, optimization issues and problems, but it’s different from almost everything else out there. Hence, it’s worth a try if you are interested in trying something new for a change.
