Your Royal Gayness Demo

Being royalty is fairly difficult in some regards, although it’s very simple in many others. It was even easier back in the day when royal families held any actual power, since they ruled over entire kingdoms. However, certain matters were not easily accepted by society, regardless of how rich or powerful the ones responsible were.

Your Royal Gayness is an interactive visual novel in which you get to play the role of a prince who is not really into girls, even if everyone is pressing him into marrying the beautiful princesses that come to propose to him. Each time a girl requests an audience, the prince must find a good reason not to marry her, which is not as easy as it sounds.

The main character’s name is Amir, and he has a variety of other problems besides his sexual orientation. Hence, a variety of characters require urgent assistance with various issues, such as wolves that eat children, or dragons that eat too much and get too fat to fight. Each one of these problems can degenerate, and since you can lose popularity because of this, it’s important to pay attention to them.

The princesses have various interests and preferences as well, so it helps if your excuse somehow includes those. Hence, if the girl is afraid of spiders, it goes much smoother if you say that the castle is attacked by giant spiders and you do not have time to marry her. It’s obviously a very rough type of humor, but some of the jokes are quite funny if you don’t take them too seriously.

Speaking of which, the game is far from complete at this point, given the fact that the demo is designed to serve as a proof of concept for its Kickstarter campaign. The mechanics are not yet fully integrated, which means that your choices do not have any long-term effects yet. Many other components are planned for the full release, so the game should be a lot more fun when it’s done.

Your Royal Gayness is a bit too rough and repetitive at the moment, but it shows a lot of promise if the developers keep working on it. Hence, you can support them by contributing to the game’s Kickstarter campaign.
