Worms Forts Demo

The beloved worms are back it again and this time they travel back in time and take over the ancient empires of the world, including Egypt, Troy and even Japan. Beside their usual merciless exchange of explosive projectiles, they are now also capable of building forts, which protect them from the blasts and allows them to obtain better positioning on the map.

At its core, Worms Forts maintains the old recipe and provides you with countless ways of inflicting serious pain on your enemies, using a wide variety of strange weapons and plenty of dark humor. However, there are a few new things that make this title special and they appear in the form of forts, which every worm can build when their turn comes. Thus, whether you want to rise into a better position and get a clearer overview on the battlefield, or make it harder for others to hit you, forts are a delightful addition to the gameplay.

Naturally, in order to build them, you need to give up to some round time and move into the correct position. This can be achieved by simply walking to the desired location, or in the case of the leg-less worms, jumping there. After the building is place, you also get the chance to shoot your weapon, in case the clock hasn't run out yet.

Among the other additions, there are now over thirty weapons that can be used to wage war and destruction on the fellow worms, some of which are downright ridiculous. Thus, you get to fire a rhino from a catapult and watch it ram through the enemy forts, as well as explode in the end, to top things off. There are many more such weapons, all of which make the matches highly entertaining.

The graphic engine, on the other hand, has hardly changed from the previous release, except for a few improved effects and slightly better textures. The 3D perspective can still be a bit difficult to manage in the beginning, especially for those of you who got accustomed to the handy 2D view from the classic titles that preceded this one.

In the end, Worms Forts shines the most when it comes to the multiplayer matches, where you can play with your friends and enjoy the hilarity that immediately ensues as soon as someone starts firing. Hence, the game remains just as entertaining as it always was, only now you are able to build forts and destroy them with bazookas.
