Windash Demo

MOBAs are a quintessential part of gaming nowadays, ever since Dota popularized the genre back in the WarCraft 3 days. We now have Dota 2, League of Legends, Smite and many other similar titles on the market, each one of which provides the players with a slightly different experience. However, there is always room for improvement, especially in the gameplay department.

Windash looks and plays like a casual version of the aforementioned games, but it could very well turn into a much more refined product with enough effort and dedication. Right now, it’s just an arena in which you can challenge a few friends to a duel, but depth and strategy are nowhere to be found. On the other hand, there are some elements that have the potential to attract a crowd, but they need to be refined as well.

In short, the game revolves around the conflict between two goblin clans over some wind turbines. You are assigned to one of the teams, and it is your duty to capture the said turbines and eliminate as many enemies as you can while doing so. Each goblin has a few abilities that can be used in battle, but everything is quite basic and restrictive as of right now.

One of the more interesting elements pioneered by the game is the fact that you can fall off the map if you are not careful. Since the island you play on seems to be suspended up in the clouds, you need to be very careful around the edge. On top of that, each goblin has a skill that allows it to push enemies away, which can be successfully used to throw you into the void.

Unfortunately, this part is not very well implemented yet, because the edge is never where you think it is. Thus, you’ll find yourself falling even if there is still some space between your goblin and the edge. Not only that, but the poor selection of skills has the potential to make the gameplay repetitive in a rush, which is not what you want in a MOBA.

All things considered, Windash is not there yet, because it lacks a lot of vital elements, such as multiple character choices, more abilities and a smoother gameplay. However, this can turn into something a lot more fun, at least if more content is added in the future.
