WarPath Demo
A multiplayer FPS featuring fast-paced action and plenty of game modes to keep you shooting for a long time #WarPath demo #Three races #Fps game #Warpath #Demo #Three
Multiplayer shooters have to strike a balance between many different elements in order to be successful, all of which are crucial in the overall experience. Thus, whether it's plenty of game modes, a hefty selection of weapons, or impeccable mechanics, at least a few of these must shine, otherwise players quickly lose interest.
WarPath is a first-person shooter that borrows many of its components from a wide variety of other sources and brings them together in a slightly different setting, with a not-at-all original back story to complete the experience. Hence, the title is basically a combination of Unreal Tournament and Quake, with a similar plot involving alien planets and three different races that fight each other for dominance.
Naturally, you get to play as any of these three races and use a variety of weapons to kill those who stand in the way of your goal. While the game was clearly designed as a multiplayer shooter, it also includes a singleplayer experience, which basically acts as a tutorial and practice ground for you to learn the mechanics and get familiar with the gameplay before facing off against human opponents.
While the story may not be original, the level design received quite a bit of care and the environments really look impressive, especially the outdoor locations. Even of the weapon collection is kind of poor, they all have different effects and require a bit of practice before they can be used at full potential, since every projectile type follows a different set of rules.
As far as the game modes are concerned, you may not be impressed by the classic ones, such as death match, but you may be interested in the singleplayer mode that features territory control and strategic choices. That way, you get to spice up the gameplay a bit, although even that quickly gets repetitive and boring, as soon as you discover how the mechanics actually work.
Finally, WarPath fails to impress and does not bring anything new to the genre, other than some tweaked elements that were borrowed from other sources to begin with. Hence, although you can have a few hours of fun with it, the game loses its charm in a rush and quickly becomes boring.
