Games are meant to be a means to pass the time, either by yourself or with friends, so games that allow multiplayer modes or at least Co-Op have always been, are, and will forever be popular. It doesn't matter if you are trying to help each other pass the campaign, or race each other to see who gets the bigger score, playing with a friend is always better. That's exactly what some developers thought when they came up withUnsung Warriors, a 2d action-adventure game set in Iron-Age-inspired Europe.
The story is pretty straightforward; some shady character lured most of the people of your village into an ancient catacomb with the promise of glory and riches, and you are the only sane person around left to save them. Your journey takes you through beautiful green forests and into shadowy catacombs that would make you sleep with the night lamp turned on, if it weren't for the high-quality cartoon graphics to lessen the blow. You eventually gather gold, learn magic, get your hands on some new weapons, and beat whatever looks at you funny into submission.
The game's 2D graphics allow smooth controls on pretty much any computer system, regardless of age, as long as it can run Unity content. You move around, jump, double-jump, attack, defend, have to dodge obstacles and avoid traps, pretty much everything you'd expect from a platformer. The difficulty is quite challenging and is currently unadjustable, so don't think you'll be able to pass the game without ever dying once, except maybe if it is your 100th time. More so, You'd better learn to be patient, since most of the time a level can be completed using tactics, and proper timing since a death leads to you being teleported back to the last save point.
The levels are both engaging, and plenty in numbers to keep you occupied and interested for a very long time. More so, if you do manage to beat it, consider bringing in a friend and completing it again in Co-Op mode, so that you can inflict twice the damage in the same amount of time. Overall, Unsung Warriors is a game that shows great promise, and it will keep you glued to your PC screen for a few good hours.
