Our planet is constantly changing, whether because of our input, or just because things always change when it comes to nature. However, there’s no denying that we have a tremendous impact on the environment, and not in a good way. The industrial revolution took its toll on the planet, and we just barely started to think about changing our ways and going green.

Unspokin is a third-person adventure game in which you play the role of a mute girl as she goes on a quest to preserve the natural beauty of the world. She’s not alone in this journey, on the other hand, because she stumbles upon a blind bear that also needs help. Together they must face a few challenges and explore a wonderful world.

The events take place on some kind of floating islands, and they seem to be the world’s last natural habitat, which is why they need to be saved. The story also focuses on the fact that Cairenn - the main character - lost her voice, as well as on her friendship with the blind bear. Both of their conditions are caused by pollution, so they have a pretty good reason for trying to preserve nature.

Exploration is an important part of the gameplay, but there are a few actual puzzles to solve as well, although they are not particularly tough at this point. Hence, most of the time you just have to pick up things and move them around, although you must remember that this is still a short demo. More content is going to be added by the time the full version is released, as well as better mechanics.

However, the graphics are certainly nice and detailed, not to mention moody. It’s wonderful to see such engaging environments, even if the engine used to render everything is not particularly powerful. The right post-processing effects and color choice make a huge difference, on the other hand, so you can be certain that the designers have quite a bit of talent.

Unspokin truly has what it takes to be a huge success with the crowds, especially if more content is added and the gameplay is diversified. Thus, it’s worth keeping an eye on until the full version is released to the public.
