Unseen World - Magical Lense Demo
Help Kumiko travel into another dimension in this colorful role-playing game featuring magic and humor #Unseen World #Magical Lense #Oriental RPG #RPG #Role-play #Lens
JRPGs are a unique category of video games, since they follow a different set of rules and they may not appeal to many of those who are used to the classic, western role-playing games. However, there are plenty examples out there of oriental RPGs that managed to impress the entire world, thanks to their fascinating stories and original mechanics.
Unseen World - Magical Lense won’t impress more than a handful of people, on the other hand, because it really doesn’t have what it takes to make it in the industry. Not only that, but not much creativity was involved in its development, because everything seems be either copied from someplace else, or thrown together on the spot. Hence, the result is not the kind of experience you would want to go through by your own accord
As such, the story talks about a twelve-year-old girl who receives a magical magnifying glass from her grandmother on her birthday, only to discover that it was broken. By attempting to find the pieces and put it back together, she finds out that the lens is actually magical and it can be used to travel to another dimension. The dialog is just as childish and uninspired, unfortunately, so do not expect things to get better as you go along.
While the maps are somewhat spacious, they are very limiting when it comes to the places you are allowed to explore and walk to. The environments are very repetitive most of the time and besides a few trees, rocks, and the same houses over and over again, there’s not much else you can admire.
Whenever you enter an encounter, the perspective changes and every creature that’s part of the battle takes turns. There are no time limits and you can choose to either attack, defend, cast special abilities, or open the inventory and use items from there. The tactical options are down to a minimum, which means that the combat is all about who does the most damage in the shortest time span.
Unseen World - Magical Lense is way too shallow and simple to be worth a try from those of you who are looking for a good RPG to spend some time on. However, if you just want to fool around and have a bit of a laugh, this can work just as well, especially since you do not lose an awful lot if you just drop it after a single session.
