Unbound - Worlds Apart Demo

The latest trend when it comes to platformer games is taking the basic principles of basic platformers (jumping on ledges, gathering resources, fighting or avoiding foes), and then giving it a unique twist that will make the game more memorable. Down to the very basics, that is pretty much the same trend that Unbound - Worlds Apart follows, but the twist is offers to the platformer genre is indeed quite memorable.

You play as Soli, and your world was torn asunder when rifts towards other dimensions ripped open and monsters started pouring in, killing everyone you know and love. Your job is to get to the bottom of this and find a solution towards stopping the mayhem, all while using the power of the very portals that started it all. The power you have over the portals offer you the ability to take advantage of the  different rules of physics that apply to other realities in order to let you pass the obstacles you face in your own.

For example, if you are facing a ledge that is way to high for you to jump to, opening a portal at that spot might reveal an intermediate platform to which you can jump so that you can pass. The problem with these alternate realities is that while they are reflections of what your world looks like, they have their own disadvantages too. For example, more often than naught you will open a portal in the wrong area and reveal that there is a monster right there waiting for you, prompting one of those scary "nope" moments, followed by a quick portal closing in the monster's face.

While jumping to and from different realities may seem fun, saving your own is the main goal in Unbound - Worlds Apart, and you will go a memorable journey while doing so.
