UK Truck Simulator Demo
Haul trailers across the United Kingdom in this relaxing trucking simulator featuring a large map and many different vehicles to choose from #UK Truck #Truck simulator #Euro truck #Truck #Sim #Simulator
One of the greatest mysteries in the video games industry is why people enjoy playing truck simulators, especially when all you have to do is drive around long and mostly empty roads for hours on end. However, you only need to try it for yourself to see the appeal, because it’s not about the actual driving, but about the relaxing atmosphere and the joy of seeing the open road.
UK Truck Simulator is not a revolutionary game in any regard, because it does what every other title in the genre did over and over again. What it offers, on the other hand, is the possibility to drive around the United Kingdom, using a variety of European-specific trucks, albeit without any official licenses. However, it should be good enough for most people, especially since it doesn’t really matter what it writes on the said trucks.
As it should be obvious from the title, the fact that it takes place in Britain is the game’s primary attraction. Hence, the map is designed to resemble cities and highways from Europe’s rainiest superpower, completed by the fact that you have to drive on the left side of the road. Whether you have to haul cargoes from London to Manchester or between any of the other major cities in England, the experience shouldn’t differ too much from the rest of the games in the series.
In order to enforce good behavior in traffic, the game punishes you whenever a law is broken, such as when you exceed the speed limit or run a red light. These offenses come with fines, which are immediately subtracted from your balance. Obviously, if you happen to hit something, both the trailer and the truck can get damaged, which brings further sanctions and a costly repair fee.
The simulation itself is quite realistic in most regards, especially when it comes to handling and the way the trucks react to your input. Probably the most annoying factor is that you won’t be able to reach very high speeds, considering the fact that you’ll be carrying a few tons of cargo around. The graphics engine is quite capable of rendering a pleasing amount of detail, although the environments are still rather barren and repetitive.
When it’s all said and done, UK Truck Simulator is a decent addition to your collection, if you happen to be a fan of the series. However, the new additions might not be worth the price tag otherwise, because the map is not detailed enough to represent the United Kingdom and make you feel like you are exploring it.
