Tribes: Vengeance
Battle in the war of the tribes and make full use of your robotic suits in this multiplayer-oriented first-person shooter #Tribes 3 #Tribes demo #Multiplayer shooter #Tribes #Vengeance #FPS
The Tribes series has a long history when it comes to PC games, as well as quite the dedicated fan base. Featuring a fast-paced gameplay style and a variety of futuristic concepts, such as powerful handguns and robotic suits equipped with jetpacks, the franchise managed to become a very popular multiplayer option for people from all over the world, competing with the likes of Unreal Tournament in this regard.
Tribes: Vengeance is a multiplayer-oriented entry in the series, although it does feature a singleplayer component as well, along with a neat story that tries to explain the reason for the war. Moreover, you can also see who started it and even play with some of the characters that were involved in the conflict before it was even recognized as one, which is definitely good news for the old fans of the franchise.
The story does much more than present you the cause for the war, though, since you can also play in the present and take part in the actual conflict. In essence, you get to witness Julia’s (one of the main characters in the story) childhood and understand her reasons behind the killing spree she is about to start, in order to settle her debts with the leaders of the other clans.
When it comes to gameplay, the developers managed to create a very intense and exciting atmosphere, most due to the fact that everything is fast-paced and you have to move quickly in order to survive the dangerous world plagued by war. The weapons are powerful and deadly, but you can also make use of the robot suit you are equipped with in order to fly through the air and do a lot of other fun stuff, all while trying to win a war.
However, the most important part of the game remains the multiplayer component, because that’s where the game’s mechanics truly shine. Thankfully, a lot of new mods have been integrated this time around, albeit some are inspired from games like Unreal Tournament and the like. Hence, you can enjoy anything from the classical Deathmatch, to Rabbit, Ball and Fuel, all of which are incredibly fun and addictive.
All things considered, Tribes: Vengeance managed to please the players, you can still find some problems with it if you look hard enough. Bugs plague the gameplay from time to time, although they are not very serious, while the story could have received a bit of closure and some better writing overall.
