Although it’s but a speck of dust to the universe as a whole, our solar system is quite big to us, too big to explore with our current technology. Titans of Space [Classic] is an exploration game designed to be enjoyed with a virtual reality headset, namely an Oculus Rift DK1 or DK2. The game aims to be both fun and educational at the same time, which means that it allows you to travel between the planets of the solar system and provides you with useful information about each one of them, if you wish to give it a read.

While the experience is not as mind blowing as you might hope, the journey can be pretty exciting, especially since the VR component allows you to enjoy the trip however you desire. You can also perform a few special actions in the case of certain planets, such as zoom in, rotate the celestial bodies, or even orbit around them for as long as you want.

There are also quite a few customization options at your disposal, especially when it comes to how you control the interface. Whether you wish to use the mouse, head gestures, a keyboard or a gamepad, the choice is left entirely up to you. Obviously, some are more convenient than others, and it may prove to be a bit too demanding to turn your head whenever a button needs to be pressed.

As far as the graphics are concerned, you certainly won’t be left speechless by them, but the planets and the moons are detailed enough to make the experience believable. The craft that transports you is pretty basic, on the other hand, although it doesn’t really make a difference anyway.

In the end, Titans of Space [Classic] is the perfect way to learn a few things about the solar system and put your VR headset to the test. There’s more content on its way as well, so the experience should be even more engaging in the future.
