In the beginning you just have to pass over the tiles once in order to clear them, but soon you have to do multiple sweeps in order to clear the stage. On top of that, the speed increases as well, so it’s important to stay sharp and have nimble fingers.

Another great component is the included level editor, which allows you to create your own stages and put your imagination to the test. On top of that, it’s even possible to share your creations with other people and browse through a ton of user-created content. This extends the experience and keeps players engaged for a lot longer, so it’s great to be able to add your own input.

As far as the graphics are concerned, do not expect anything out of the ordinary, since all you can see are the colorful tiles and boring backgrounds with no artwork whatsoever. Thankfully, there’s no need for flashy visuals when the gameplay is so addictive and enjoyable. Speaking of which, the controls are intuitive and responsive, regardless of whether you use a keyboard or a gamepad.

In the end, Tiles is a unique puzzle game with plenty of content and a great editor that allows you to extend the experience as much as you want. Hence, you should be able to have a lot of fun with it if you like a challenge.
