Terrarium Land Demo
Play the role of a robot trying to solve puzzles and fight weird enemies on a strange planet #Puzzle game #Action adventure #Adventure game #Robot #Adventure #Puzzle
Autonomous robots are not very far away in terms of technology, since we already have plenty of them working in factories and various other places. However, they are certainly not capable of walking around among us and interact with the world as we do. It’s only a matter of technological progress, on the other hand, and it should become a reality in a few decades, if the trend is to continue.
Terrarium Land is a third-person adventure game with a bit of action and a few puzzles mixed in for taste, in which you play the role of a robot that goes by the name of T.I.X. He’s not the brightest robot out there, but he is quite able to interact with almost any kind of object, at least under your supervision. Hence, your task is to explore a few planets and deal with whatever nature throws at you.
The story is not that exciting, but at least it gives you a purpose and makes each level feel like it goes somewhere. Your robot and its abilities are much more important, on the other hand, because it’s vital that you know how to make use of its capabilities. Hence, it is able to transport things using electromagnetic fields, as well as use all sorts of weapons to deal with enemies.
You also have to keep an eye on a few bars when it comes to your robot, such as its health and energy level. While the first is self-explanatory, the latter is what allows you to cast some special abilities, jump and sprint. It recharges pretty quickly, but it can still be a bother if you forget to calculate how much energy you’ll need for a series of actions.
As far as the graphics are concerned, everything is as colorful as it can be, especially when it comes to the environments. Granted, the action takes place on various alien planets, but it still takes a while to get used to the strange color scheme. However, the controls can be a bit jumpy, even if you use a controller, which is not good news if you have to react quickly to something.
All things considered, Terrarium Land is certainly not a revolutionary game, but it can be just the right thing to treat your boredom with. The puzzles are quite intriguing, as are the worlds you get to visit along the way.
