As it happens, the story starts when the grey goo portrayed by you manages to eat a time machine, which now allows the hungry fellow to travel between different time periods and satisfy his cravings. Hence, you get to explore the Cretaceous and nibble on dinosaurs, ancient Egypt to get a taste of mummies, as well as the future, where entire star systems are on the menu.

To make the concept more attractive, the developers have made the game extremely simple to play and understand. You only need to use your mouse and the occasional keyboard button in order to perform the desired actions, which is as straightforward as it gets.
