Sylvio 2 Prototype
Explore a creepy and devastated park in this open-world horror game with puzzle elements #Horror game #Ghost hunt #Record ghost #Horror #Ghost #Record
Ghost hunters are people who use expensive equipment to record spirits and various other supernatural manifestations on tape. There’s an entire science behind it, which means that it’s certainly not easy to get started. Most hunters rarely seem to catch something convincing on video, so a large percentage of the population is still skeptical about the entire thing.
Sylvio 2 is an open world horror game in which you play the role of a ghost hunter by the name of Juliette Water, who must solve a variety of unexplained phenomenona and try to capture them on video. As the name clearly implies, this is a sequel to a rather well-received first part, and it basically aims to the same thing all over again, only a lot better this time around.
The plot is quite intriguing already, even if you only get to witness a small fraction of it in the prototype at hand. As it happens, Juliette investigates a park that was recently destroyed by rainstorms and forest fires. Using a whole new range of devices and equipment, she must find evidence of supernatural presences, as well as document her findings both in writing and on video.
As far as the tools that are available to you this time around, each one of them has a specific function. A walkie-talkie that can be used to keep in contact with a few other characters and receive valuable information, a powerful video camera capable of shooting 360 images, as well as a special monitor that allows you to watch the said videos and navigate through them using dedicated controls.
In the visual department, things are certainly better than in the first game. However, it still looks a bit unpolished and rushed, although it’s not always observable. Sometimes, the sights you stumble upon are actually quite breathtaking, both visually and atmospherically. The same goes for the soundscapes and the general effects used to complete the picture, except maybe for the cringey voice acting.
Even if Sylvio 2 is still very early in the development process, the game shows a lot of potential. With a lot more work on level design and a few visual upgrades, this can turn into a pretty huge game, especially if the horror component is implemented nicely.
