Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser Demo
Deal with a massive alien invasion in this retro-style sidescroller featuring robots and all the lasers you could wish for #Supercharged Robot #Robot Vulkaiser #Arcade sidescroller #Supercharge #Robot #Vulkaiser
As you might be aware by now, people from Japan and Korea have a fascination with robots that can morph into things, which is probably why they have a giant statue of one. While obviously not all of their movies or anime series revolve around metal giants, you’d be safe to assume that they are more than frequent in video games as well, as is the case with the title at hand.
Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser is a retro sidescroller that probably laughs at movies like Transformers, because the game features more robots in five minutes than the entire movie series featured until now. Not only that, but Michael Bay would feel a bit ashamed as well at the sight of all the explosions and lasers flying around on the screen, all of which make the game that much more intriguing and challenging.
Story-wise, don’t look for the meaning of life on the plot, because there’s barely a logic to the events that happen in front of you, let alone in the background story. Hence, it all starts with an alien invasion and a team of young men who vow to defend the planet from them, using giant robots named Vulkaisers. Flashy names and various other kitschy stuff are part of the mix, but you are free to ignore them for as long as you want.
While everything starts rather simple and easy-to-handle, things soon get out of hand and you are quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemy units coming to get you. As such, you need to be able to resist them, which is why the ‘Combine’ option was put into the game. In order to increase your firepower, two or more robots can morph into one and combine their forces, resulting in a much more fearsome battle machine.
From a technical point of view, the game is about as retro as possible, featuring classic 16-bit graphics and more pixelated explosions than you can count. However, the poor definition does not make the gameplay any less exciting, and although you may not be able to see too much detail, a lot of work went into the visual component. An adrenaline-infused soundtrack keeps you distracted as well.
Albeit a bit too fuzzy and disorienting for most people, Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser is indeed exactly what the fans of the genre want. Hence, if you are on the lookout for a bit of action and you do not mind having to do fifty things at once, then this may very well provide you with quite the challenge.
