Super Untitled Game

I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw some screenshots for Super Untitled Game. It looked like another 2D action shooter, the kind we’ve seen over and over again. After a few minutes with it, I can say that it is another 2D action shooter that uses pixel art graphics but apart from that, and most importantly, it brings its own flavour of action and a bunch of other nice things.

The first thing that sticks to you when playing Super Untitled Game is how well it handles on all fronts. Smooth controls that are very responsive, well implemented double jump mechanics and directional shooting, the essentials of a solid shooter are there.

A few minutes in, the game lets you see how intense it can get, and that’s great. It’s not unreasonably tough, and a skilled 2D platformer/shooter player might see a casual experience but all in all, it keeps you on your toes and engaged.

It’s the balance you want to have when your game looks similar and feels like others from the genre. At least it entertains you with what it has to offer.

You rarely get to take your finger off the shoot button; not just because there are that many enemies to blast away, but because the controls work great without having to reduce bullet consumption.

In Super Untitled Game, you can grab on to street lights, platforms, and cables, all of which give you a vantage point in situations where there’s too much firepower coming your way. You can double jump, pickup weapon upgrades and powerups, Super Untitled Game offers all the classic 2D shooter features.

To end, Super Untitled Game might not shine very bright when it comes to originality and creativity but it’s a well-built game. It looks nice, it works great, and it’s fun to play.
