Stupid Stones: Adventure Demo

Stupid Stones: Adventure is a classic arcade shooter that aims to satisfy both the casual games, as well as the more demanding ones.

It’s hard to go wrong with an arcade shooter, and you do it right, this kind of game can bring a studio a lot of money and fame. On the other hand, arcade shooters are now so common that you really need to bring something new to the table. Fortunately, Stupid Stones: Adventure does have something that can set it apart from the competition.

The developers of Stupid Stones: Adventure, the Halvarsson Brothers studio, are working on the game right now, and it will be a while until it’s ready. In fact, the demo can be considered rather unstable and not representative of the final quality. Interestingly enough, the studio is going to release this game on all the imaginable platforms, including PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Wii u, PS Vita, Android, and iOS.

You might notice that we’re not saying anything about a story, but with a name like Stupid Stones: Adventure they don’t really need a story. They only say that we need to shoot the stone before they hit us, and that’s usually a good enough incentive.

Like in any classic arcade shooter, you control the gun at the bottom, and you try to aim the stones that are coming down. The thing is that you have three guns, each with its own color. The stone also come in three colors, which means that you need to shoot the stone with the proper color. It might not seem like a difficult thing to do, but it is.

There are some problems, though. First of all, the controls are sluggish, and the graphics should use some improvements, even if it’s using the Unity engine. Also, on the PC, there is no reason to use just a small part of the middle screen when there is so much surface to work with.

It’s an enjoyable experience, albeit a little bit annoying at first, until you get the hang of it.
