Ski Racing 2005 Demo
Maintain your balance down the slop and go as fast as you can, in order to become a world-renowned skier #Ski Racing #Ski Simulator #Winter Sport #Ski #Race #Racing
Skiing has been practiced for hundreds of years now, since people realized they could move much faster through the snow and avoid sinking into it using simple wooden planks. Later on, they began coming with ways to make them more slippery, which in turn allowed them to slide much faster downhill.
In Ski Racing 2005 you get the chance to take advantage of the latest technology when it comes to skiing and participate in the most prestigious competition in the world, as well as travel through a lot of countries to reach your goal. Naturally, the events get more and more difficult as you advance through the rounds, as you get to face off against the best skiers and more difficult tracks.
In case you are not familiar with how the sport is played, the challengers basically have to go downhill as fast as possible and pass through the marked gates. Whenever you miss one of these gates, points are deducted from your total and you get penalized at the end of the round, in the form of extra seconds added to your overall time. Although it sounds pretty simple in theory, at speeds reaching over 120 km/h, things can quickly go wrong and the slope is not as soft as you might believe.
Even if the entire purpose of the rounds is to be as fast as possible, it is of capital importance that you break regularly, since it becomes increasingly more difficult to negotiate turns as your speed increases. Moreover, if you happen to hit the nearby fence or the actual gates, you are automatically disqualified and you have to repeat the round, losing all of the current progress.
One aspect that really catches your eye is the sense of speed you get as you descend down the slope, especially when it gets a bit steeper and you start picking up some momentum. The feeling is accentuated by the fact that every wrong move basically means disqualification, but you still cannot keep yourself from going as fast as you can, whenever there's no turn in sight.
In the end, Ski Racing 2005 is not a revolutionary title, but it does feature enough options and tracks to keep you entertained for a while. It is, however, rather short lived, since it quickly becomes repetitive, due to the fact that most of the landscapes are basically the same.
