However, you can still have fun with the concept if you don’t take it seriously, which is why skeletons are still quite popular in RPGs. Hence, a wacky platformer should be fine as long as the gameplay mechanics are addictive and challenging at the same time.

Skeleton Boomerang is an action-platformer in which you play the role of a man trying to save the world from being overrun by skeletons. The game features classic platformer mechanics and a lot of action, which means that you are constantly fighting something or trying to avoid a trap. The action is quite fast-paced, so you shouldn’t be surprised if you need a short adjustment period.

The first thing you need to get acquainted with is the boomerang, because it is your main weapon throughout the adventure. Hunter is quite skilled when it comes to throwing it, so you should get comfortable with the concept as well. In essence, the boomerang works like you would expect it too, which means that you throw it into enemies and wait for it to come back.

Skeletons come in great numbers, so it comes in handy that you are able to eliminate multiple enemies with one flick of the boomerang. In fact, the game rewards you handsomely for multiple kills with the same throw, and it’s the only way you can increase your score after you complete the game once. You can also change between multiple boomerang models and techniques.

As for the graphics, everything looks old-school, yet the pixel artwork is very convincing and enjoyable, in spite of the low resolution. Each level you visit has a different theme as well, such as a graveyard or a winter world, and there are plenty of nice sprites. Moreover, there’s a great soundtrack playing in the background in order to keep you engaged.

Even if it doesn’t appear to be finished, Skeleton Boomerang is quite an achievement, and it can keep you busy for a while if you have a passion for platformers. On the other hand, it can also get repetitive after a while.
