Singmetosleep

Singmetosleep is easy describe from a visual point of view, but how it actually makes you feel, that’s a different story. It’s an exploration game dominated by a minimalistic architecture with no trace of any true organic shape and yet somehow, it feels so alive.

Right from the start, you’re dropped into this mysterious world with no piece of information about where you are, or what you are doing there. Absolutely nothing. All that’s left is to choose a direction, and start walking.

For those who nourish their minds with minimalistic design, making a decision as to where to go is going to be tough. You’re surrounded by an environment that displays a lot of variation in a brief 360 degree turn, and everything looks breathtaking.

A small monolith forest stands next to a gyroscope made out of dark elements, a bit further back, gigantic floating blocks overlook everything from high above. All of what you see, close and from afar, is inviting, and each time you discover a new object or pattern you naturally start asking yourself about their purpose.

The above might not make any sense but neither does anything in the game. Not that that’s a bad thing. In Singmetosleep you’re left with your own thoughts in a silent world where you can create meaning and history for everything that is around.

You can’t even hear the sound of your footsteps in the snow, but the structures around you are not mute. Singmetosleep is blessed with more than an overwhelming arrangement of form, its soundscape is equally fascinating.

This is merely a prototype for the actual game, a preview of the amazing thing that one day will hopefully find its way onto your PC. Even so, Singmetosleep offers, by far, one of the most immersive and hypnotic worlds to come across and that really might be an understatement.

NOTE: Singmetosleep offer support for Oculus Rift and is automatically enable if used. One thing you should look out for, to avoid a bit of frustration, withhold the instinct to press the Space key. There is no jumping. That toggles Rift mode and if no VR display is connected the game locks viewing to only the horizontal axis.
